A Little About Rustic Trail Teardrop Campers
A family owned and operated company in North Carolina, Rustic Trail Teardrop Campers is affectionately known as RTTC. Owners Derrick and Meredith Long treasure small business and family values, and this reflects in their work. Co-owners Steve and Amberly Russell were customers that turned into family. Like many great ideas, these sweet teardrops started as a personal project and grew to meet the needs of so many others.
RTTC is all about getting back to the basics and creating a stress-free environment for those that love to camp as much as they do. Not only do they put their heart and values into the building process and operation of the business, they pull together resources to provide their community with information on how to best care for their teardrop.
RTTC offers tips and tricks with their blog, as well as annual owner events and gatherings to build their community. The RTTC team is about long standing connections and servicing more than themselves. The commitment speaks for itself…

The Rustic Trail Koala Bear
The Koala Bear is RTTC’s tiniest (yet mighty) camper.
It is lightweight and the 5’ ceiling makes it ideal to fit into most garages. The Koala offers a walkway to be able to move in the small space or a little extra room for our furry friends. Made of sturdy material, this camper boasts of beautiful pine birch and rugged wood plank vinyl which will last many years to come.
Even though it’s of tiny stature, don’t let that fool you! Standard features include foam-board insulated roof, full size spare tire, 2” rear receiver for bikes/cargo, vent/fan, interior shelf, power strip with USB ports, 15 amp shore power, interior LED package, two sliding windows with screens, front door with separating screen door, and two rear stabilizing jacks.
You can, of course, customize your Koala with the following: A/C unit, tri-fold queen mattress, twin size platform bed, front rack, tongue box, exterior table, vinyl stripe, and vent cover. This little Bear packs a powerful punch!
The Rustic Trail Papa Bear
Do you prefer something a little bigger, that you can pull with your SUV? The Papa Bear camper is the original model for RTTC. It contains all of the potential that the Koala Bear does and more! The design allows for dinette seating for 2-3 people which will be ideal for those rainy outings.
After your day of adventures, pile in for a game of cards. The deadbolt doors with screen and window shade allow for security and privacy. Build your Papa Bear as you see fit by including an interior light package or a battery kit. Other customizable options include a roof rack, vinyl wrap, aluminum rims, and exterior awning.
The Rustic Trail Grizzly Bear
You love the designs of RTTC, but need just a little more space.
The Grizzly Bear offers that with their additional walkway space and underfloor storage (which includes easy access dual side hatch doors). It’s no wonder that the Grizzly is one of their best selling models. The Grizzly Bear includes everything that the Koala and Papa models do, plus options for a table upgrade and removable nylon canopy.
The dining area converts to a queen size sleeping area for easy nighttime access. You four-legged friends will thank you for the extra space too!
The Rustic Trail Kodiak Stealth
The Kodiak Stealth was built to be the rugged camper of the bunch! With the additional ceiling height and flat wheel wells, you can include the extra load of a roof tent or roof box for your traveling convenience. You can upgrade the interior with front cabinets and drawers, an upper rear shelving unit, or a hinged rear bed section dependent on your needs.
The Rustic Trail Polar Bear
As the tallest of the Bear campers, the Polar Bear has 6’ tall ceilings for that extra headroom. The dinette area can seat 3-4 people and also converts to an RV queen sleeping space. Customizable with any of the previously mentioned amenities, the Polar Bear is also a limited additional camper model.

Not only does Rustic Trail build quality campers, they also provide accessories that most people wouldn’t think of, including: wheel chocks, jack pads, breakaway cables, tire leveler, wrenches, tire pressure gauge, covers, tire covers, and a tire inflator (just to name a few).
