A perfect starting point would be the most visited national park in Brazil, and Iguazu Falls where you can take helicopter rides and guided tours of the breathtaking forest. The Lencois Maranhenses National Park consists of rolling white sand dunes for as far as the eye can see. All tours are given on horseback or 4 x 4 vehicles.
If you are looking for campsites, the best place to check out is the Camping Clube do Brasil. Their organization has at least 25 camping sites that are trailer friendly up and down the countryside. It is recommended to stay in one of these locations that fit your budget, as they have an array of amenities including security personnel.
These campsites also have secure ways of storing your personal belongings, while you are out exploring.
Are you a fan of rocks and various formations? Chapada Diamantina National Park will be your ultimate destination for wonders such as these. Between the caves and waterfalls, the natural reserves of this area are not to be missed.
If you are looking for additional rock formations to explore, Itu City and the Varvito rocks will be another location on your Brazilian tour. You can park your teardrop nearby at the Eco Camping Fazenda Paraguazu campground.
It is pet friendly and features a luxurious swimming pool and restaurant. If you love to fish, there are opportunities at the park lake.
Of all the National Parks, a fan favorite is Serra Dos Orgaos. Located near Rio de Janeiro, this national park is perfect for avid hikers and explorers. The various peaks of the park will leave you in awe of the natural beauty surrounding you. It is recommended to be extremely cautious if you choose to legally wild camp in this lovely country.
Take all of your belongings with you when exploring the territory, even if for a short period of time. It has some risk attached, so you just have to determine if it is worth it for you and your fellow travelers. Stay no longer than one or two nights before moving on to a new location.
