Lobsters, Lighthouses and National Parks
Reaching international culinary fame for their lobsters, Maine is a powerhouse in the seafood world. However that isn’t the only thing this beautiful state is known for. Each one of the 60 lighthouses that sweep the rocky coastline. Acadia National Park has been one of the top ten most visited National Parks in recent years.
The park preserves many of the outlying islands. With 158 hiking trails, this area is a mecca for outdoor exploration and coastline views. Accommodations at Blackwoods campground, Seawall camp, and Schoodic Woods campground will leave you up close and personal with nature, no matter which season you choose to adventure.

Find some oceanfront views at Moorings RV resort and enjoy some early morning whale watching while kayaking or visit a few of the many lighthouses within an hour’s drive of the resort. Ferries, museums, antique shopping, swimming, beachcombing are just a handful of escapades awaiting you and your teardrop.
Visit the town of Camden for some tourist activities. Fort Knox State Park offers a tour of a historic fort and the Whispering Pines Campground nearby for lodging your trailer. This family friendly site offers their campers free use of their rowboat and canoes. Looking to immerse yourself in local culture? Be sure to visit Maine Marginal Way, which is a lovely trail for walking and birdwatching.
With almost 200 campgrounds to choose from, there are nearly 100 RV friendly ones. Maine has 12 state park campgrounds to explore. All of those welcome trailers with the exception of Warren Island. Keep in mind that only 6 of those do include hookups for electricity and water:
Camden Hills, Mount Blue, Aroostook, Peaks-Kenny, Rangeley Lake, Sebago Lake. Acadia campgrounds have water and no electricity. Make sure to take some time and tour each of the 4 National Parks in this great state!
