Yellowstone (America’s 1st National Park) is a sight to see with its glorious hot springs and geysers. Going for a winter adventure? Check out snowmobile rentals or hike to Avalanche Peak or Ribbon Lake Loop. Meadows are abundant near a canyon rim along the Yellowstone River Picnic Trail.
Small trailers (like most teardrop trailers) are welcome at campgrounds such as Slough Creek and Fishing Bridge RV. Fishers, hikers, and those comfortable with the howls of wolves welcome!
History buffs would appreciate the LIttle Bighorn Battlefield National monument located in the southeastern portion of Montana. Explore the visitor center, museum, and self guided tour through the historical site. Rangers are available in the summer to answer questions, and in the off season there is a short documentary shown.
Grand View Campground (only 15 minutes from the battlefield), Grapevine Campground, Afterbay Campground, and Horseshoe Bend Campground have RV spots just waiting for your visit.
Montana contains 9 National Parks to include Glacier Park and Little Bighorn Battlefield. There are 565 rv parks in Montana; 170 (23 RV friendly) which are state parks. Glacier National Park contains 4 RV friendly campgrounds. Yellowstone offers 12 campgrounds and Little Bighorn has 4 campgrounds nearby.
