About Timberleaf Trailers:
What’s the point of living in the beautiful mountainous state of Colorado if you can’t just pick up and go camping on a whim, or explore the beauty of the surrounding states with a decent amount of travel comfort?
Timberleaf Trailers founder Kevin Molick found himself pondering that same question way back in 2015. He and his wife Paula loved the outdoors, but they were SO over the traditional method of tent camping, with its weather-related contingencies, sleeping discomforts, and cooking limitations.
There had to be a better way, without having to invest in a bulky, cumbersome RV or motor home. Finally, the answer dawned on the Molicks with the light of a thousand lightbulbs. A teardrop trailer! Yes, it seemed to be the perfect solution.
Mobility? Check! Outdoor galley kitchen? Check! Comfortable sleeping quarters, lightweight portability, and little impact to fuel economy? Check, check, and check!
The Inspiration of a Lifetime
But alas, Kevin’s search for the perfect teardrop trailer seemed to come up short. Although the basic idea of the teardrop was absolutely perfect, not one option on the market seemed to meet their requirements of ergonomic functionality, aesthetics, and quality.
What would it take to create the perfect teardrop trailer, to fit their on-the-go lifestyle in a compact, durable, low-maintenance package with many comforts of home?
Kevin’s background in woodworking was the key in creating a modern, sleek, and visually pleasing teardrop trailer to fit the avid camper lifestyle. Since 1976, he had designed and built fine custom furniture for clients in the Denver area, and ultimately transitioned to restoration and renovation of older Craftsman-style homes.
He began to make the connection between his previous woodworking and craftsmanship experience, realizing that the skills were transferable in creating the perfect teardrop trailer. With the support of his family and friends, he set out on his new mission.
The Flagship Launch
When Timberleaf Trailers launched their flagship teardrop trailer in 2015, demand reinforced Kevin’s original idea that he had effectively filled a gap in the trailer market. After online magazines such as Uncrate, The Coolector, and CoolThings.com began to build excitement around Timberleaf Trailers’ new product, there was no turning back, and a new market player was born.
With each custom order, Kevin runs his business with a commitment to quality, clean lines, and elegant detailing, all while putting the FUN in function. Each design also offers a nod to the mid-century modern design quality that makes the teardrop trailer special and instantly recognizable.
Teardrops just wouldn’t be the same without that groovy, unique aesthetic.
After Timberleaf Trailers officially took off, Kevin branched into creating several different versions of his Classic style. Now each option is available in a variety of colors, custom-built to order in their shop in Grand Junction, Colorado. And if you’re lucky, you may just spot the Timberleaf Trailers “CEO of Playtime & Bounce” – Pepper, the canine mascot!
The Classic
